Clinical Case Study: Full Mouth Rehabilitation Using Illusion Zirconia Dental Crowns and Bridges

Courtesy: Dr Khalid

Patient Presentation

Patient was presented in the clinic with significant signs like deteriorating teeth and an unstable bite. Patient explained how his several teeth were worn, weakened, and compromised. The patient had trouble chewing, occasional lisping, and lacked confidence while smiling.

Clinical Examination and Diagnosis

Clinical examination revealed that there was generalized tooth wear and poor occlusal stability, the treatment needed full mouth rehabilitation approach because:

  • The upper arch showed multiple compromised teeth requiring short-span bridge restorations.
  • The lower arch demonstrated extensive structural damage, making full-arch rehabilitation necessary.

Why Treatment Was Necessary

Patient’s existing condition was progressive and persistency in same condition resulted in an unstable occlusion resulting in further tooth loss, fractures, and discomfort. Delaying treatment would have reduced predictability and increased the complexity of future rehabilitation. Early intervention was required to stabilize the bite and restore functional balance.

Why Illusion Zirconia Dental Crowns Were Selected!

Illusion Zirconia Dental Crowns and Bridges were selected due to their high strength, precise fit, and long-term reliability. The material is well suited for multi-unit restorations and full-arch rehabilitation, offering excellent load-bearing capacity along with natural aesthetics. Its biocompatibility supports healthy soft tissue response and long-term stability.

Treatment Plan

A comprehensive rehabilitation plan was developed. Multiple short-span bridges were planned for the upper arch. A full-arch restoration was planned for the lower arch to restore occlusal stability, strength, and function.

Clinical Procedure

Tooth preparation was carried out following prosthodontic protocols to ensure adequate support for restorations. Digital impressions were taken to improve accuracy and consistency.

All crowns and bridges were designed and fabricated using CAD-CAM technology. Occlusion, tooth form, and shade were carefully planned to achieve a balanced bite and a natural appearance.

Outcome

Post cementation evaluation showed a stable and well-balanced occlusion. Chewing efficiency improved significantly. The restorations provided strength, durability, and a confident natural smile. The patient adapted well to the new restorations, with healthy soft tissue response and no post-operative discomfort.

Conclusion

This case shows how Illusion Zirconia Dental Crowns and Bridges are used to manage complex cases that involves unstable occlusion and failing dentition.

The case went through a successful treatment journey and predictable results because of proper planning, timely intervention, and appropriate material selection.
